Little Tokyo 2-26-11

In preperation for Girls Day (Hinamatsuri) on March 3rd, we went to Little Tokyo yesterday while James had a chance between jobs and school.

I can't believe how big she is getting, the picture below was the first time she went to L.T.

We of course had to get some mochi, yummy!

From my favorite mochi shop the Fugetsu-do.

Girls day started of as a spring festival that included doll displays and was later turned into girls day as a companion festival to Boys Day on May 5th. This is a traditional display we found in one of the shops.

Here is a size compairison.
Here's what us poor folk were able to purchase : )

and a size compairison.
If we go to L.T. I have to get my Unagi Bento (fresh water eel lunch)

This girl loves water.

I want Elaina to learn about both sides of her heritage, so we got her some chop stick trainers to help out.

Elaina really wanted me to take a picture of the fire tower, so here it is.

To get a little more use out of it, I had Elaina wear her kimono (yukata) to church today. To bad the sun was bothering her.
